Hot off the Wall Street Journal Press. Of course the article ends with "I'm really proud we got a middle class tax cut," said Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, the Democratic Caucus Chair. "It wasn't what the Republicans wanted to do, and we made them do it." There's that poor pitiful me attitude. Become successful and you to will be looked down on. The government must rule your life!

Gah! I have no Wall Street Journal subscription, so I don't get to laugh at the silly quotes. The first tax rebates seemed to help ward off the recession. We'll see how this round goes. They're probably hoping people will use the money to keep their homes out of foreclosure. The band-aid approach has always been popular with congress. How about we see some mortgage and lending reform so people can't screw themselves like this in the future??
The real issue with the “Stimulus Package” is the money the government is going to give us (which was our money in the first place) is being borrowed from Japan and other countries. How great is that? Our own government has to obtain loans from other countries to pay us a “tax rebate”. Doing this is going to have some serious long term effects. The worst part is this is only happening because it's an election year. This isn’t going to do anything for our country but put us more into debit with other countries.
