Claire and Mommy Already Enjoying The Tree House

Lyn and Claire had a good time hanging out on the tree house last night. Claire is starting to make all sorts of noises. Last night she was laughing for the first time. It’s so exciting when infants start developing and do new things.

Phase Two Of The Bedsaul Tree House

Gabe came over again today and helped me finish phase two today. Thanks a million Gabe! I’ll start working on phase three tomorrow weather permitting. I have some pretty big ideas for the house. I’ll see if I can actually put it together. Stay tuned!

Sorry the photos are in the wrong order but I'm tired.

The Bedsaul Tree House

I’ve been reading some books and doing so research on tree houses. We have two really big trees perfectly spaced for a two pole tree house. Gabe came over this morning and helped me cement in the two 4x4x12. Tomorrow morning we are going to work on building the frame for the foundation. I hope I’m not in over my head on this one. Good thing Gabe is helping me out. Thanks a million Gabe.

When Paige came home today she was so excited about her Daddy's new project.

Running

As most of you know I have started running again. I have been trying to put in some good miles. When you have two kids and you might only be able to squeeze in about an hour for fitness, running tends to do the trick. But I have once again noticed the facial expressions on runner’s vs. cyclist. I don't think people run for pleasure. That includes me.

The faces I see on people when they are riding their bikes.

The faces I see on runners out on the trials.

More People On Food Stamps

Here is some interesting data.

There are now over 44% more people on food stamps than in 2001 http://www.frac.org/html/news/fsp/2006.10_5Yr.html. The articles I have read are trying to blame the economy on this but here are some other interesting facts. The government is actually advertising for people to apply for food stamps http://www.fns.usda.gov/fsp/outreach/radio-buys.htm. They have also relaxed the rules and regulation to obtain food stamps. Our population has only increased in the US by about 7% from 2001 http://www.npg.org/facts/us_pop_projections.htm. Is the government trying to force us all into something? Is our country and leaders taking us down the Socialism path? Make sure you look at what policies, laws, taxes, programs, etc. your presidential candidate is backing.

Happy Easter Everyone

We had a great Easter weekend and we hope all of you did as well. We hunted for Easter eggs in the park; the Easter Bunny came to our house and left Paige and Claire all sorts of candy (sugar high city), attended a great service, and did a real fun family hike. Lyn and I also got to go on a mountain bike ride together. I cannot remember the last time we did that. She even sported a Visenka jersey on the ride. I hope you all enjoy the photos. Happy Easter!
